About Focus

Focus Electronic was established in 1981. It designs, manufactures and supports a series of top quality computer keyboards and other PC input devices.

Since its founding, Focus has always been striving toward excellence, and it is the reason why it has always been known as the home of top quality computer keyboards.

Focus defines its products to the high-end market, and hassucceeded in achieving this standard in past 27 years. The success was not made by chance, as much resources have been devoted into the development of products with unique design, innovative value, and much more user- friendly features.

• 1981: Focus Electronic Co., Ltd. was established in Taipei, Taiwan

• 1982: Began with the production of TV Game

• 1983: Involved in the production of APPLE II PC

• 1984: Started the assembly of keyboards for APPLE II compatibles

• 1985: Began the assembly of keyboards for IBM PC compatibles

• 1986: The first maker to offer keyboard with click tactile key switches

• 1987: Received worldwide patent for keyboard with cover/ file holder

• 1988: Focus Electronic Corp established in City of Industry, Ca., USA

• 1989: "Outstanding Quality Award" by Ministry of Interior, Thailand

• 1990: Received worldwide patents for KB with calculator and others

• 1991: Announced KB with built-in trackball and KB with 8 arrow keys

• 1992: Focus Electronic (China) Ltd. established in Shenzhen, China

• 1993: Announced 130-key programmable KB with key-lock function

• 1994: Began production of Alien Mouse; got patent on the design

• 1995: Added membrane type of keyboards to the products line

• 1996: Granted exclusivity to Spec Research Inc for USA market

• 1997: Granted exclusivity to POP for Pakistani market

• 1998: Began production of USB Hubs; received patents on the design

• 1999: Introduced multimedia and internet keyboards to the market2

• 2000: Started the production of radio wireless keyboards and mice

• 2001: Announced a series of Smart Office Keyboards for Windows XP

• 2002: Introduced slim and compact keyboards for LCD PCs 2003: Joined Fortrex and moved office to Chungho, Taipei

• 2004: The product line expands case, power supply, keyboards and mouse. Released a series combo sets of PC case, keyboard and mouse.

• 2005: Development Optical TrackBall Technology. Introduction 2.4Ghz RF Keyboard with optical trackball for HTPC use.

• 2006: All production are complied with RoHS. Release new full-size 2.4Ghz RF Keyboard with optical trackball and mini keyboard with 2 USB port

• 2007: A new office keyboard released and development 2.4Ghz remote control and keyboards set.
